Song of The Day

Sia – Elastic Heart

Sia’s “Elastic Heart” is one of my favorite songs in my journey. What started as a fight to get my respect back after dealing with institutional racism after being harassed, assaulted, discriminated, and retaliated it didn’t become just my battle. It became the battle for everyone harmed. In hindsight I began to see that those who turned their head and couldn’t do the right thing wasn’t because of intention, it was because of fear. In a world where gaslighters and narcissist rule the world in selflishness, they forget that the things they do just ripples into something more worst, a fight to be better and gain more. In the end when our time is over, we are left like a dog on the side of the road left to fend for ourselves. There’s a powerful verse in the song that made me gain empathy which makes my purpose more fulfilling which is “You cannot break me. I’m still fighting for peace” and it may be a losing battle, but at least I fucken tried. What I like about the video is that it’s’ a reflection of how we are in society but how we should be as some of those souls that are capable of doing amazing things remain trap in the cage of society.

You cannot break me. I’m still fighting for peace.
